Hello yourself! My partner (Barbara Martinsons) and I purchased the old Van Norden/Bivins place on Flugertown Road about four years ago. Thus, as we are both relatively "new" to Willowemoc, there's much in the way of historical material that we can provide. You might contact Ed Van Put, of NYSDEC, or Judy Bivins Smith, Roscoe librarian. Ed can provide you with information about our home (we now call it "Willow") when it was briefly the home of the Woman Flyfishers, and Judy's mother grew up in our house (Judy's mother was the the Elsie Bivins Darbee, of Catskill fly fishing and fly tying fame.) 'Hope this info helps.
Ok, I see now, Chris and Charles C Whipple are the sons of Thomas and Maria Winner Whipple. Now Chris married Mary F Decker and I am not quite sure where she ties in to me.
Yes John died during the war. He was married to Elizabeth Decker, my gr grand aunt.
Laura, I have posted a photo of Larry Whipple with my mother Dorothy Ingraham Decker and Preston Terwilliger's obituary to go along with your photo of him. I am not quite sure where Larry and Kip connect right off the top of my head.
And a Happy Thanksgiving to you as well. Lets make a plan to go over this genealogy/history stuff. You may email me at catskillcellars@hughes.net and we can take it from there. I love your photos you posted, just great. Talk soon.
Hello Laura, did you get my posting regarding your genealogy request? I haven't heard back from you but would love to share information. Happy Thanksgiving. Bob
